Ngā mahi

Ko te kaupapa ako o te tau nei ko Ngā Uri o te Raupatu. I ako ngā tamariki i te pātere nei e kōrero ana mō ngā riri pakanga. I tērā wāhanga i ako ngā tamariki i ngā tūmomo āhuatanga tāniko me ōna tikanga. Nō konei waihanga ai i tētahi hoahoa paraikete hei whakaahua i tētahi āhuatanga o te pātere.

The learning theme for this year is "Ngā Uri o te Raupatu." The children learned this pātere (chant) which talks about the land wars. In the previous term, the children learned about the different aspects of tāniko (traditional weaving) and its meanings. From here, they created a blanket design to represent an aspect of the pātere.

Please take the time to read about the aspect of the pātere each child has chosen for their design. If you’re able to, consider supporting them by purchasing their blanket. They have put a great deal of effort into this project, from creating designs on paper to carefully coloring every single square in a digital grid on the computer. The final product has been produced in China.
